Part Two of Carolynne Interview: 17th October 2003.

Time: 6pm.

Carolynne's location : In a taxi (yes again! Lol)

Sarah: Do you have a contract where you can't release a single for while?
Carolynne: No, well I signed a contract before I went into the house with my management, but I do have to wait until the winner releases a single
Sarah: Oh, so you do have to wait?
Carolynne: Yeah I have to wait a little while…but not too long! But I need that time anyway to get my things together. I'd rather wait that rush it out. But I heard today that the song I wrote with Alex is going on her album
Sarah; What one?
Carolynne: The "Not an average Kind of girl"
Sarah: That's great, I like that!
Carolynne: Yeah and I sang the backing vocals on it which is good.
Sarah: There was another one you wrote with Alex wasn't there?
Carolynne: We wrote one round the piano together called "Still"
Sarah: Yeah that one
Carolynne: I want to record that one!
Sarah: I hope you do, I really liked it

Carolynne: I spoke to Alex today, I was supposed to be going out with her tonight but I cant coz I have to come back to Leeds
Sarah: Is she ok?
Carolynne: Yeah, I'm missing her like mad, I heard her voice today and I was like " awww babe" and she was like " I'm missing you as well"

Carolynne: Oh yeah (gets excited) me and Louise are doing "Loaded"!!! (laughs)
Sarah: (surprised) are you?!
Carolynne: Yeah but we said we are keeping our clothes on…jeans and t-shirt! (laughs)
Sarah: Will you? (laughs)
Carolynne: Ooh yeah and I aint doing anything rude!
Sarah: What did you parents say?
Carolynne: I aint told them yet (laughs) should be ok though!
Sarah: You'll be like…..dad…..
Carolynne: (laughs) Dad guess what…….. he'll be like "bloody hell"!
Sarah: I'm gonna be naked!
Carolynne: No am I heck no! (laughs) I aint showing any rude bits!

(We talk about the message board, I tell her she's a moderator on there now which she found v.funny lol)

Sarah: Ok I have some more questions for you here somewhere…….
Carolynne: (jokingly)Oh your at it again, come on get it together bird! (laughs)

Sarah: What was one of your fave kids shows?
Carolynne: Ooh I liked She-ra (how do you spell that? Lol)
Sarah: haha I watched that as well
Carolynne: I absolutely loved it…..Princess of Power! (laughs) There's a picture of me when I was little in a She-ra cape and wig. I actually wanted to have a long blonde wig like hers, I thought it was gonna come out but it weren't, you know those wigs that are like Tinsel?
Sarah: I had one of those!
Carolynne: Yeah I was gutted, I was like what's that all about!
Sarah: I saw on Fame that you said you loved the Raggy Dolls
Carolynne: Oh yeah I loved that. Sadsack, lucy and the re-ject bin! (laughs)

Sarah: If you were to go back in the academy would you do anything differently?
Carolynne: Urm, yeah I would probably….I er, wouldn't get drunk
Sarah: You didn't get too drunk!
Carolynne: No I didn't, but it doesn't take much to get me drunk! I'd probably also focus a bit more, but it's easy to say that now, but when you're in there it's much harder.
Sarah: Do you think you learnt a lot in there?
Carolynne: Yeah I learnt a lot about myself.
Sarah: Crying!
Carolynne: Yeah! I learnt that I'm more emotional than I thought I was . My mum and dad would tell you that you'd never see me cry!!
Sarah: (laughing)
Carolynne: Honest!!! I'm always the daft one and if I wanna cry I will go and do it by myself!

Sarah: Someone said you have got a driving test?
Carolynne: Yeah I have (she says the date and time but I don't think I'll type that up!)
Sarah: Good luck!!
Carolynne: I've actually got a car that I bought before I had any driving lessons. I was with my dad and I was like "I want that one" and it was the first big thing I bought once I'd got my songwriting deal. I thought if I bought the car I'd wanna drive so I did. I bought (says the car) it's soo lovely, but er I cant drive it! (laughs) I bought it in December and I still cant drive it! I failed my test twice, the first time I pulled out of a round-about too soon and had to slam my brakes on (laughs) The second time the guy said I didn't show him that I could use a bus lane, but he was just an absolute idiot! I think I might have forgotten how to drive now!
Sarah: Well good luck this time!
Carolynne: Thank you!
Sarah: Let me know how you get on!
Carolynne: I will do!

Sarah: What studios are you recording in?
Carolynne: Oh lots, all over london…. Where am I next week, urm I dunno where I am next week (laughs)
Sarah: You must get in such a muddle!
Carolynne: I am!! It's a good job I have management telling me where to go!
Sarah: You must be well knackered now!
Carolynne: I'm ok, I'd rather be doing this and be knackered than not doing it.

Carolynne: Any other crazy questions?
Sarah: Oh yeah, someone asked about you not liking feet!! (laughs) Was it just your feet you don't like or everyones? (lol)
Carolynne: (laughs) Everyones. Well I'm only a size 3, well sometimes I get size 4. But feet….ooh no I cant go out with a boy unless he has nice feet!!
Sarah: (laughing) Really?!
Carolynne: Ooh yeah, or clean feet. If I really like someone then they can touch me with their feet, only if I really like them! Like if I was in bed with them and they touched me with their feet, I'd like "eugh get off" (laughs) But I wouldn't do a foot massage, no way!!
I've only ever touched two guys feet ……
Sarah: (laughing. How mad is this conversation?!) 
Carolynne: And one of the times it was accidental (both laugh for ages)
Sarah: You have to warn them all do you? Haha
Carolynne: Yeah, I once really offended one of my ex boyfriends coz he was really really tall and (starts laughing.) he had big feet and when he took his shoes off I was like " euuugh get them away from me that's disgusting!! I was like your toes look like fingers!!
Sarah: Did you go out with him for long? Haha
Carolynne: I still see him actually, he's a really good friend. I cant have offended him that much!!

Sarah: You're going to the footie tommorow aren't you?
Carolynne: Yeah
Sarah: A girl called Nicola on the msg board and some other people are going to go and support you
Carolynne: (surprised) Support me?! Cool!

Sarah: You gonna do any more signings?
Carolynne: Signings? I'm not sure, probably at some gigs and stuff.
Sarah: I wanted to go to the one in Surrey but I wasn't well enough
Carolynne: That was a mad signing! How you feeling now you ok?
Sarah: Not too bad thanks. Did you know then?
(we chat for a min bout stuff)
Carolynne: Yeah I do, my dad was telling me about that
Sarah: Was he?
Carolynne: (giggles) yeah
Sarah: They have been really nice your parents
Carolynne: Yeah my dad is an absolute gem, and my dad and sister. I'm the luckiest girl in the world……..(jokingly)They get on my nerves sometimes though (laughs)
Sarah: Do they ever embarrass you?
Carolynne: No they don't embarrass me. Mind you my dad has embarrassed me a few times with my ex boyfriends.
(she tells me about some of the things her dad has said to them. )
Sarah: Is he quite strict then?
Carolynne: No, he just says you tell me when your getting married but I don't need to know anything else!!When my little sister gets married he will be like " noo" but when I get married he will be kicking me down the isle saying "cya, good luck" (laughs)
Sarah: (laughing) Charming!!!
Carolynne: (laughing) He'll be like " thank god for that!"

Sarah: Have you written for any other groups apart from A1?
Carolynne: Yeah I did one for Kim Wilde, she recorded one of mine. Mainly I've been writing for myself .

(Carolynne then asks me about all the pics on my site and we chat about that for ages. We also somehow get on the subject of mobile phones! I wont type all that up!lol)

Sarah: A lot of people on the msg board think it's great that you are doing the anti-bullying campaign. Especially because some of them are being bullied at the moment.
Carolynne: Aw really?
Sarah: Yeah. They wondered what advice you have about that seeing as you were bullied?
Carolynne: I'm doing the anti bullying campaign (chatting to kids in schools about bullying) But first I'll be speaking to people to make sure I don't give the wrong advice out . Obviously some things I would say to do wouldn't be the right thing necessarily for everyone else to do.
But you really have got to speak up though. Don't be shy about speaking up and telling somebody, you shouldn't keep quiet. That's the main piece of advice. Also don't feel as if you are being silly, and if you feel like they are not listening then tell them again and again!
Sarah: Some people can be so horrible
Carolynne: Yeah people can be nasty. The thing is it doesn't have to be physical bullying it can be mental bullying and if you are at school and you have a group of friends and you have a false sense of security, then if you go away from home and suddenly these people don't want to know you, it's awful. It's your whole world when you are at school, it may seem little like "so a few people have fallen out with you at school", but you know you have to go to school everyday, it's your whole life. So it's horrible.
Sarah: Did you hate school?
Carolynne: Yeh I did hate school. I really wanted to enjoy it but I didn't.

And on that sad note the taxi pulled up at the station and Caz had to go get her train to Leeds!! She said she will be on the msg board as much as possible and that she'd probably speak to me sometime this weekend.
So, a huge huge thanks to Caz, she is a gem!! What a lovely girl! You couldn't ask for someone nicer to chat too!
