Sarah's review
Here is my little (or maybe not so little!) review about
last night's gig at Epsom
Haylz, Jon and myself arrived at Epsom about 5pm and met
up with Dan. We all went straight to the front of the stage,
a bit later on Bex arrived.
Anyway at about half 8 Carolynne spotted us sitting by
the stage and came over and gave us a kiss and said hello
and had some pictures taken. She looked really pretty, as
always! She stayed signing quite a few autographs for people
and then came back to us and said she would speak to us
after the gig. Haylz told her that her and myself had a
jokey present for her after but for her not to slap us when
she sees it... Not surprisingly she looked a little worried!!
lol
The gig started at about 9pm. Paris was on stage first,
I thought he was very good performer, and the songs he sang
which he had written were pretty good! Got a few pictures
of him, if anyone wants them just let me know.
Next up was James, he sang a few songs and the eurovision
entry "hold on to our love".
But now the most important bit...Carolynne!! She walked
on stage looking stunning, and absolutely sung her heart
out! She was fantastic! The first song she sang was "Dont
Speak" by No Doubt. This song totally suited Carolynne's
voice! Hopefully you will all see the video Dan recorded
on his camera of it! Big thumbs up to that song, first time
I've heard her sing that!
Next up ( I think it was next!) was "underneath your
clothes". This has always been my favourite cover song
that Carolynne has done. She always sings it much better
than the original and tonight was no different, I actually
think she sung it better than ever before! Lots of high
notes, which were perfectly in tune! But what else would
we expect ay?!
Next was a song Carolynne has written herself called "Therapy".
I've heard her sing this live before, but this time it sounded
even better. Really rocky & funky song, great lyrics,
very honest - although some of the lyrics she had to tone
down as she saw young kids in the audience!! lol. Very well
performed song, with Carolynne adding lots of moves to it
as well!
Finally she sang the song which got her into the Fame Academy....
"I drove all night". Once again she sang this
very well!! Some little bits of the arrangement sounded
slightly different, but in a good way! Lots of long and
high notes. Brilliant!
And after four songs she had to leave the stage. I'm not
just saying this because I make the website (!) but I genuinely
thought she gave *such* good performances, the best I've
seen her do. So big congrats Caz, you were wicked! :D
After Carolynne left we watched Peter perform four songs.
I think he is actually a good performer (despite the fact
he forgot to turn on his mic when he started singing! lol),
tried to take a few pictures but he moves around the stage
so blimmin fast! Very energetic performance from Peter!!
Next was Alistair who sang a few songs from his album, which
seemed to go down well with all the Ali fans!
After the gig had ended Carolynne came and found us again.
She asked what we thought of the gig, and we had a nice
chat. Took some more photos for the site. Haylz and myself
had made Carolynne a funny, but rude t-shirt... we were
gonna pretend it was the new Official Website Tshirts but
that was too cruel! haha. Her face when she saw it was soo
funny, she looked a bit shocked. It had a picture of her
on it that we know she hates (sorry caz!haha), and erm well
lets just mention the word "rabbit" and most of
you will know what I mean!! :lol We had two more of the
same t-shirts which she signed and wrote something cheeky
on!! Haylz has a picture of Carolynne with the tshirt which
no doubt she will post here later!
Talking of T-shirts, you will be able to get the REAL website
t-shirts soon!!
We then went to the indoors and I recorded Carolynne giving
a message to you all on the site. That along with the pictures
will be up a bit later!
We all went outside again and Louise and Paris were out
there. Carolynne asked me to take a picture of her and Louise
for the site. It's a really sweet picture!
A few hugs and goodbyes later it was time to go! Caz will
be doing the interview for the site soon, she is going on
holiday next week so it will probably be after that!
I think I speak for everyone when I say it was a wicked
night! Great to finally meet people from the site, wicked
to see Caz singing again and she was really lovely as always.
Thanks to her for taking time out to spend with us after
the gig as well!
The only bad thing about the night was that Caz's parents
couldn't make it to the gig! Hopefully we will all see you
both at the next one!
Phew, I think that's it for now!
(I'm gonna scream at the moment as my digital camera wont
work on my computer so I cant get any of the pics or msgs
on here!! As soon as it's fixed the pics will be up asap)
