Yorkshire Evening Post - 17th December  2003

BY ANDREW HUTCHINSON

FAME Academy finalist Carolynne Good will be heading Stateside in the New Year to write and record tracks for her debut album.

The 23-year-old from Bramley in Leeds will be teaming up with songwriters and producers who have worked with the likes of Christina Aguilera and Pink.
The former Intake High School pupil plans to spend three weeks in Los Angeles and Nashville in February.
The trip will be the final part in the recording process for the album, which has already taken Carolynne to Stockholm in Sweden to write and record.
Carolynne says the sound of her material will surprise the fan base she built up during her four month stint in the BBC Fame Academy. "I think people will expect me to sing nothing but pop ballads but the stuff I have written is more funky rock," said Carolynne, who finished third in the talent contest.
"I don't think people will expect that – but I really hope they like it.
"The trip to the US really is the final part in the jigsaw as far as putting together the new material goes. It will help give me a different perspective on things. Then it's a question of taking it to the labels and seeing what they make of it and – fingers crossed – the right deal will come along."
Party
Carolynne held a private Christmas party for friends and family at the Birdcage nightspot in Leeds city centre last night. She even took to the stage herself to perform a few songs.
"I have not had all my close friends and family together in one place to say a proper thank-you for all the support during Fame Academy, so I thought a Christmas party would be ideal," she said. The former cheerleader has also been invited to take part in a photo shoot for lad's mag Loaded. "I am not sure whether to do it yet," she said.
